Hi there,
My name is Sara, I'm a 4th grade reading teacher, and this is my VERY FIRST blog post! Yippie! I never thought I'd be a blogger, but here I am.
So, some things about me. I live in the State of Michigan, I'm pro-public education (obviously since I'm a public school teacher) and love teaching reading! Currently, I work as a remedial reading teacher for 3rd through 5th graders. But, I mostly work with 4th graders.
Anyway, on my first post I wanted to tell my first readers about this FANTASTIC web-site I found that offers printables for educators: THE EXTRA READING COMPANY.
I download stuff from this web-site and send it home for my students to read every night. I swear, not a day goes by that I don't find something new and exciting for my reluctant readers. I mean, this site has it all: downloadable and printable books, nonfiction articles, short stories, even full novels for kids at all different reading levels.
I subscribed as a full member to ExtraReading.com about a month ago, and couldn't be happier. Their materials have really helped me help my school meet AYP this year.
